Dumb today

I pushed a guy on the ice today… the teacher was making us play some retarded ice tag thing, and I was going slow cause I was hungry and not really into it, and he skates over and tags me, so I shoved him He’s a decent skater but always falls down and this time he fell down… he totally had it coming, though. I still regret it. On the upside, I can now skate on one foot while holding onto the blade of the other?

One of my glass plates broke I have to go get a broom so I can sweep up the massive amounts of glass currently on the floor. I placed some sheets over it in the meantime. I never use them, don’t worry

Mostly I’ve been bumming around… crap, I forgot to go to the post office again… someone send me a reminder in the morning!!

That still amuses me… I got my last cam show into Final Cut but that thing apparently needs about a million hours to process. Dumbface video… two hours!! Breaking news: I’ve gotten it down to 30 minutes or so.

As you guys know, I ordered some pizza last night It was pretty good, so I had some more this morning before heading out for my lesson. I also got some shooting done today, which looks pretty hot if I do say so myself… and I do say so myself…

I reinstalled my operating system, and now the cam works just like it used to

I went to the ice rink tonight, and it was PACKED. So packed that after an hour they had to kick everyone off to resurface the ice. They looked like a herd out there, just going around in circles… I stayed in the middle, where no one really goes and the ice is actually usable after five minutes I’m doing better with some moves, and I’m supposed to be preparing a little performance to do in a month or whenever.

Yes, it does help if I hit the publish button. I started this entry at night and then didn’t go to sleep until 10am. True story

Driving rambling

Arg. I almost got hit by a car just now. He was at a stop sign and I had already stepped off the curb and had taken a few steps, and THEN he accelerated and immediately had to brake hard, leaving a gap of a foot or two between us. PAY ATTENTION! I walked past his car and THEN he honked at me. GREAT REFLEXES, obviously. And then he flipped me off! I hate drivers.

Many years ago I almost got hit by a car that had turned down a side road… I don’t even think I was close enough to either end of the block to warrant anger, but maybe he wasn’t paying attention, because he rolled down his window and told me to get on the fucking sidewalk! THERE WAS NO SIDEWALK! I had no choice but to walk in the street or walk on someone else’s property! Absent-minded drivers have no business on the road because when they fuck up, they genuinely think it’s YOUR fault and will have nothing else to say than “fuck you I’m right.”

I mean, there’s been times I’ve been a bad pedestrian, so I’m not just saying “fuck you I’m right” too (though I’ll never be able to do as much damage to a driver as a driver can do to me, so you decide who needs to be more careful). I once stepped out onto an icy road way past the point I should have and was lucky the car was able to slow down in time… that was terrible of me. And the other day the sun was directly where I was looking and so I assumed nothing was there and had to run once I saw that there was, in fact, a car hurtling toward me

This is why I don’t want to drive… walking is dangerous enough.

I haven’t written anything about my ice skating progress lately… you’d think I wasn’t in the class anymore or something. But I am! I’ve just been dragging my feet a little bit as I try to build up some strength in my one leg. It’s easy to have your left foot be the dominant one, but when you try to do tricks on both sides, it’s a lot harder. But I’ve gotten better at doing crossovers, and I can do spins pretty well, too, and a move called a “spiral” which is actually when you skate on one foot and the other foot is parallel with the ice. I told the teacher that I see people spraying others with ice when they stop, and I thought “I want to be that asshole” but it seems like I have to skate fast to do that, and I’m still scared of it!! Well, that’s how far I’ve gotten with that I bet my legs look really good! I hope I can get to tape my skating someone

I’m almost done with Starship Troopers. Someone said that this book was satire. Like yeah, and maybe Ayn Rand wasn’t really serious about all that capitalism stuff, either…

I know a lot of people criticize most fashion photography as looking fake or photoshopped, but the pictures I took yesterday have such good lighting that I look TOO good. I’m zooming in on some of these and they look both super high res and super glossy, like it’s almost unreal. If I couldn’t see the individual pores, I would think something happened on the way from the camera to the computer Of course, you guys should know from my Sandwich video that I use Lightroom, not Photoshop… mostly to correct lighting problems. These ones are really, good, though!

I found out I can make very small (file size) movies using my webcam and quicktime Hehehehe
