Baking Fun – Lava Cookie

I’m in the middle of baking something I’ve never done before… the Chocolate Chip Lava Cookie, of course :) If you’ve ever been to Red Lobster, you know that this dessert is the best ever!! It’s like a big cookie cake with a melted chocolate center and ICE CREAM on top :D I’m making it by using a regular chocolate chip cookie recipe, then pressing a layer of dough into a oven-safe bowl, putting some chocolate chips in a little pile on top of that, and then putting on another layer of dough. It’s taking a while though, but at least the bowl is glass and I can see how done it is on all sides :) At the moment it’s taking at least 20 minutes, so I hope it cooks all the way through… I’ll take a picture :D

Okay I finished and took a few pictures!!

The final product!! I just ate it, and it is SOOOO good but lasts about 5 seconds… and now I have a ton of leftover cookie dough :)

  1. Damn, that looks so good!! Your presentation is not the best… but it still looks really good. ;) I’ve never had this at Red Lobster. I don’t remember the last time I went to Red Lobster. Though, the molten chocolate cake at Chili’s is really good too. I’m not even a huge fan of chocolate but I love this. Warm chocolate cake with hot fudge in the center topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate shell on top drizzled with caramel. It’s awesome!!!!!

  2. That’s what I get for taking phone pictures… it looks very tall on top because there’s whipped cream.

  3. I was just kiddin Ava.. it’s looks awesome!! ;) So that’s whipped cream on top of ice cream?? Well… hell yeah!!! :D
