It’s been a pretty busy weekend, considering. I got my new clothes from everyone, so I wanted to shoot at least pictures in those and edit the “sick” out later, and they turned out well (people keep telling me I only sound sick, anyway) I did my show… because I don’t want to be one of those girls that makes excuses to get out of their shows… I don’t even know when these sniffles are going to go away. Probably not even until Tuesday

I finally bought some soup and will be eating that shortly. I just wanted to keep you in on the loop!

I keep thinking I’m going to publish this after I think of something vitally important to say, but then I just kind of drift off and do some other stuff, like upload some sweet pictures for you guys. And then I remember that I didn’t publish that entry and come back… I did end up eating some chicken noodle soup and down some Dayquil. I fully expect to wake up tomorrow fully better.

Slowly… dying… there’s no soup here and I’m trying to keep to myself. Dyyyiiiinnnngggggggg

I got stuff in the mail today though!! That makes me feel better. I got a big umbrella with a cool cathedral pattern! And a Yankees jersey hahaha I love it. And some other stuff, I think I’m going to have to turn these into sweet shoots. Any ideas?

Ah fuck. I have a sore throat.

Everyone around me is sick, and then I started sneezing last night, and then my nose was stuffy, and I noticed my throat felt a little rough. And I just woke up and my throat feels like it has something shoved down it because swallowing is tough.

I swear there was more to this entry… ummm… yeah, I’m still sick, but my throat’s gotten better. That’s not really of much use until my nose starts breathing again, seeing as how you get the sore throat from breathing entirely from your mouth…

I’m staying in today because my new skates get here… also because I’m laaazy and my back feels like it’s in that state of perpetual stretching and doesn’t want to move around because I might lose the feeling. Once the skates get here, though, I will have to go to the ice rink and have them sharpened, so have no fear for this lazy girl…

Update: Still not here! It’s 4:00, no skates, no hope, no reason to go on! The tracking number says it’s still “out for delivery” I mean how long are those guys out. Come onnn now.

It probably helps to hit the “publish” button when I’m done writing.

Update again: THEY’RE HEEEERE! I pretty much hit Publish and they arrived. Good thing comes to people that complain, I’ve learned my lesson! Anyway, they fit :O I might not have a long break-in period after all

Okay, I’m reading a book by Steven Pinker called The Language Instinct, because I’m all interested in that. This guy’s a famous psychologist, in terms of writing books that people read (not journal articles and studies and stuff). Anyway, he wrote a whole chapter weakly refuting the idea of linguistic relativism. Such! Crap! He kept telling the reader that because we’re so smart we’d obviously see the infinite wisdom of his words, because clearly anyone that disagrees is in the Dark Ages of thinking! Hey, way to appeal to my emotions to make me agree with you, but it didn’t work. Arg. I get worked up about language.

So I was saying in my cam show that I was thinking of putting up screenshots from some of my videos. I have a program that screenshots the whole video for me so I can pick out the pictures I want to be the preview on the site… but I usually get a whole bunch of good ones that I bet you would like. Yes? No?

My skating instructor and her assistant said they were talking about me today The assistant talked to me separately and said how good I was getting. And the instructor told me I was most improved Then she told me to just go get the skates that I thought were too small and bring them to her. So I did and she said they were too BIG. I don’t know what happened, but I actually see her point. She told me to get a size 3 1/2, which is insane… but fuck it, I did it. She made me feel really good when she said that I was so good because I had to work 10x harder to get where everyone else was, and it showed I had a lot of determination and was dedicated (and that’s why, she reasoned, I should get the right size shoe). It made me go awww. So I bought another (FINAL) pair of skates.

For some reason, though, I’ve been kind of having a not-so-good day. I felt stressed and ended up finishing up Oryx and Crake (so good), and falling asleep. My body just cannot handle naps and I felt groggy and sick… and then threw up. But I just kind of threw up my sickness, and I feel better now. I’d like to sleep my regular sleep now…

I had a dream where I was spilling things everywhere and it was terrible. Probably from the makeup fiasco of last night.

I also couldn’t fall asleep because I was listening to my book, hoping to doze off, and it just happened to be a part where the guy was getting almost eaten by pigoons, and I just became scared What if pigoons (pigs with human stem cells) come for me? Super smart, super hungry? I think I must have fallen asleep from exhaustion.

Do we befriend each other to justify our own existence? I was thinking about how alone I feel sometimes.

My new new ice skates should be here today… I checked the tracking number. Not yet. Of course, liiike, I could just look outside, but whatever. It’s not even within city limits, apparently.

I was in my dual cam show today and one of the rowdy guys kept whining at me (because they all pretty much get in there and start shouting demands at me), and uhhh I fuckin’ baaannnnedddd him. After I got his attention. We had a good time laughing about him. And then the mod had to help me kick another guy… because he kept complaining about how he couldn’t hear anything I told him to stop! He was warned. The user list kept moving around so he was slip sliding around and I couldn’t click on his name

I finally uploaded a second video to the member network. Except it’s uhhh not of me. Once I decide which video’s going up on Tuesday, I’ll post a preview clip

My skates are really close They don’t mess around when they say 2-day shipping!! They will not bring it any sooner than that!! Never mind that it’s the weekend…

I’m going to go upstairs and listen to some more Oryx and Crake before I pass out. Don’t forget to head out and read it for yourself!

I’ve been bingeing Persona 3 playing, because I finally got to the part I was up to before. And then, advancing a few days in the game, I discovered I was SO CLOSE to finding out how the game might end. Wow. I’ve read a lot that there’s a “good” ending and a “bad” ending and that I’d have a clear choice between them, but I was never exposed to exactly what would happen or what the twist would be. It’s a good thing, too. How you start the game and what your goals are really dramatically change about halfway through.

I say halfway because even though there’s only a month left to the game (before the expansion), that month is going to spent almost entirely grinding (leveling) my characters to the point where I won’t get totally owned in the final battle. The game really forces you to level, because the enemies don’t just learn new spells, they have higher magic stats and can kill me in one go if I’m even two levels lower than I should be. I’m afraid I’m going to spend another 20 hours on leveling up my people. Jeez… it’s been a fun ride, though.

The weirdest part of the game, I think, is the bizarre people you talk to outside of fighting. I’m finishing up a relationship with this fat kid that’s trying to talk me into joining his cult… and the little girl that wants to marry me someday… and the high school kid dating his teacher… and the really really depressing guy that’s dying and talks about dying ALL THE TIME… and the businessman that conned me into giving him 40,000 yen, then proceeded to just generally insult me then take off with no real wisdom imparted… and you pretty much NEED a walkthrough just for talking to them, or else you answer their questions incorrectly and have to spend a ton more time with them. At least during your last conversation with them, it doesn’t matter what you say, and you can insult them as much as you want Bwahahaha

I’m listening to a book called Oryx and Crake right now. It’s pretty good. I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s a book about how genetic engineering has basically been the downfall of mankind. The way the book is written, though, is both maddening and addictive. Unlike Gattaca, where the entire history of genetic engineering is laid out for you in the first 10 minutes (followed by another 90 minutes of really really boring shit), Oryx and Crake tells you the current action, then backtracks. And then pops back to the current situation, and then backtracks again. And every time you have another flashback, you think that they’re going to explain exactly how things got so bad, and then they go back to the present. Ahhh. I’m about halfway through and it seems like I’m ALMOST. THERE. But I also think that once I get there I won’t want to know how the current stuff ends. It’s rather clever. But frustrating. I keep running off from my computer to lie down and listen to it.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a vested interest in how a story ends. It makes me want to… read. Fiction, even. As if I were capable of reading anything but non-fiction.
